Blantyre Guesthouse Very, very bad Bed and Breakfast.

If you are contemplating going to Bridlington and staying in this B and B then make dead sure you have some fallback.

We where going to a music festival in Bridlington.

The couple running the B and B took our booking for 4 people for one night.

Then the wife phones us back.

After they had asked for a cheque she now wanted us to increase our stay/pay to a minimum of 2 nights.

And get this she actually tells us: This is because she found about the festival and wants to make more money !!! By her own admission.

She told us that and said she “Holds up her hands” that taking our booking was a mistake but seeing as other B and B also ask minimum of 2 nights its OK.

The difference is the others are stipulating a minimum period BEFORE taking the booking love - not after.

As a compromise we offered to even pay partly for a night we didn’t need!!! Thats 4 people paying 80% of a second night, without her actual having to fulfil their side of the bargain and put us up for a second night.

Her idea of compromise is to say she will happily return our cheque if we where unhappy. So she still get to rent the rooms for two nights!

So she doubles her price after having agreed to one and then as a comprimes she suggest we DON’T come and she will give us back our money for a service we will not use!

So now we have paid for the festival and have no place to stay.

Sorry but

a) Very very unproffesional

b) Service - I can safely say there was a complete lack thereof

c) Obvious lack of any scruples or ethics.

Personally this kind of avarice in the sight of 4 people trying to come up with a reasonable alternative - well its a bit petty.

So my turn.

Steer clear because you have no idea what else they might do.
